Energies:\u00a0Heads up!\u00a0As opposed to most weeks when they\u2019re released on Wednesday and Thursday, this week\u2019s Energy Information Agency reports on natural gas storage<\/a> and crude oil storage<\/a> will be released on the same day: this Thursday at 9:30 A.M. and 10:00 A.M., Central Time, respectively.\u00a0The Labor Day holiday effected this schedule change.<\/p>\n

Dec. crude oil<\/a> continued its downward slide today, losing $5.01\/barrel ( >5% ) to an intraday low of $81.02\/barrel, almost $30\/barrel off its mid-May highs.\u00a0Dec. unleaded gas (RBOB)<\/a> followed with its own \u00b110-cent\/\u00b14.6% decline to \u00b1$2.22\/gal. intraday, a 7-month low.\u00a0Recession fears and related demand prospects overrode the OPEC+ decision to\u00a0reduce output by 100,000 barrels per day next month.\u00a0Over the last few days going back to last week, crude oil and its products as well as natural gas futures have exhibited lukewarm reactions to several bullish supply developments.\u00a0If this theme persists,\u00a0prices will remain vulnerable to further selling.<\/p>\n

The US economy’s relative strength against other major economies is keeping the dollar<\/a> strong and putting additional pressure on gold<\/a> and silver<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Japanese Yen<\/a> slumped to a new 24-year low this morning.<\/p>\n

ECB conference tomorrow as well as Fed’s Powell speaking.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
